Dental therapists are comparable to a nurse practitioner. At Main Street Dental Care, we have three full time dental therapists. One of our dental therapists is a certified Advanced Dental Therapist (ADT). By the end of 2017, all three dental therapists will be certified ADT.
Our dental therapists specialize in tooth-colored fillings. They also treat a variety of patients, including pediatric cases. Our dental therapists are supervised by Dr. David Burrichter.
What Kind of Education Do Dental Therapists Receive?
Dental therapist receive training in many of the most commonly needed procedures, including tooth fillings, placing crowns, and tooth extractions. They focus on preventative and restorative dental care.

While dental therapists are allowed to dispense certain medication (analgesics, anti-inflammatories, and antibiotics,) the prescribing of medication is done by Dr. Burrichter.

Licensed dental therapists are approved to administer anesthesia.
Can Dental Therapists Prescribe X-Rays?
Licensed dental therapists can prescribe and administer x-rays.
